WHO WILL JUDGE THE COMPETITION AND HOW WILL THEY CHOOSE THE FINALISTS?

Judging criteria

The judges will select finalists and winners using the ‘judging criteria’ that is outlined in the PDF documents below. Students should also take note of the ‘Aims of the Task’ documents which can be downloaded from the ‘Competition’ page on this website and give an overview of the sorts of areas students should consider in their submission.

The four entries for each competition which best meet the judging criteria will be selected to go through to the competition final and each finalist team will be invited to present their entry to a panel of judges on 10th February 2010.

Who will be judging the competition?

In the first instance, every competition entry will be considered by judges from Enterprise Lowestoft and Arup (for further information about these organisations see the ‘About us’ tab of this website). They will select eight finalist teams – four teams for each competition.

Once the four finalists for each competition have been selected, the finalists will be informed and will be invited to present their finished projects to a panel of four judges at the competition final.

The judging panel will be comprised of:

• A senior representative from the Department for Communities and Local Government

• A senior representative from the Department for Children, Schools and Families

• A senior representative from the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform or the Department of Energy and Climate Change

• A Director from Arup
